Wet 'n' Wild Rafting Adventures

The Motu

The Motu River flows through the rugged Raukumara Ranges near Opotiki on the East Coast. This totally unique river is renowned for its unspoiled beauty and isolation.

The Motu River is the North Islands last remaining wilderness river, protected as a "Wilderness Zone" through an act of Parliament.

This 100km rafting journey to the sea will challenge and stimulate you with exciting grade 3 4 rapids. There is plenty of time to soak up the breath-takingly spectacular and pristine scenery.

By night relax around the campfire while your guide creates a tantilising culinary delight, as exploring the great outdoors does not mean enduring dehydrated food and all our guides are trained in the art of gourmet camp cooking.

Experience this untamed wilderness with one of our great rafting options.

On behalf of all the members of the New Zealand Womens Rafting Team we would like to thank Wet 'n' Wild Raffing Company for your continuing support. We were able to once again bring home gold at 2003 World Rafting Championships and hold onto our World Champion title. In Lipno, Czech Republic 27 countries came together to battle it out on grade 4+ hard, technical whitewater over 4 consecutive days. It was an awesome competition both on and off the river. It was a very close, tough competition amongst the women but with guts and determination we were able to come out World Champions. NZ Womens Whitewater Rafting Team Read more...
